Band Bio

Fully formed in 2006, LOCAL VILLAINS are an eclectic array of influences that no one seems to describe easily or alike. Frontman Chad Guelda, who has been playing his original songs live since the late-90's, assembled the current quartet initially with then 16-year-old bassist Jeremy Grawemeyer in 2002. Two years later Guelda reunited with (circa 2000) Pendulum bandmate, drummer Christo Foros. Only in need of captivating leads to complete the sound, guitarist Mike Orangias and first cousin of Grawemeyer answered the call. What resulted is something that rarely happens in music: multiple songwriters created a powerful and yet harmonious songwriting team.

LOCAL VILLAINS have been compared to The Rolling Stones, Jane's Addiction, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Stevie Ray Vaughn, and Kings of Leon, just to name a few. With Foros' knack for harmonies, arrangements and lyrics, Grawemeyer, Orangias, and Guelda's melodies, themes, and stories create an easy vehicle for the LV instrumental machine. Grawemeyer's solid funk along with Orangias' classical influences laid over Foros' thunder give Guelda the stage to lay rhythm with his howling vocals with the whole band singing harmonies...creating a truly colossal rock band.

Aptly named, The Long Ride took three years with dozens of trips to The Church recording studio near Detroit, MI, and well worth it. With songs that are "sure to end up on repeat in your playlist" like "summer anthem" 'Pass the Bottle', eerie and "haunting" 'Devil in Disguise', or the "catchy" heartbreaker title track (LEO Weekly, 8/4/10), anyone will find something to love on the record. As for the live show, get ready for an intense shot of big harmonies, winding guitars, and a huge rhythm section behind Guelda's primal roar. For those that love it, Rock n' roll is back.
